Aye, very good son.if you had bothered to put your literacy into practice and actually read my comment, I did say you don't need to say 'PIN number' but most people do.It may make you sound illiteratein your eyes but most aren't so anal. Lots of words have different meanings, anyway then that would be a PI number as PIN "number" is just wrong and lots of people just say PIN as it's stops you from sounding illiterate.

you have to identify it as 'number' if someone asks for your pin in the context of the clip, it could be misread as a pin from a pin cushion. technically you don't need to say PIN number but nearly everyone does, except you obviously.
