You definitely don't live in the real world.All the makers have to do is have electronics that records at a HD spec. in this case 1920×1080.The lens could easily blur this down.Then there is the compression codec it uses. It is a lossy format so it throws away detail.It could be using a cheap codec which produces blurry video.You'd have to place a HD test card in front of it and prove to the shop you're not getting HD 1080p recordings.Not surprisingly most people don't do this... :-)

@profquatermass Uh it says FUll HD 1080p so by law i have to get exacly that and nothing else....it would be the same as saying im selling a car with whatever horsepowers and then i get less....

Goodness man,Maplin just sell a couple of low priced HD camcorders and you expect to get high quality quality results from it?Welcome to the real world. You get what you pay for.

Good plan. They seem pretty unprofessional in maplins. I mean, I am not saying they are totally crap (I just bought an excellent 3.5mm extension cable from there) but they don't seem to be too great on the camcorder front. To be honest, I have found that if you want a decent HD camcorder you need to lash out with the cash a bit :)

@Guitarman0 IDK its still charging =S but by the looks ill give it back i dont want a uused 1. i saw them handle other cameras and i have to say they handle them like theyre worthless, tuch the lens etc. so imma swap it probally.

I rendered this out at higher quality settings than the camera's footage (using premiere pro). Regarding if the camera was used or not, they may have just taken the camera out to test in store (or demo to another customer). Did it come with footage already on it?
