Because he's one of the greatest songwriters in the history of ever. Which doesn't explain why he doesn't use bar chords but I just had to get the obligatory statement shamelessly out of the way. Bar chords are constrictive in that you can't really open up the melodies within the chords like you can with open chords. I think that's the main reason you wont see him using bar chords.All his songs originate on the acoustic which would indicate he's most likely a traditional folk style guitarist

This is one of those rare songs that Bruce didn't actually write. However, he delivered this song spot-on, and is the perfect vehicle for this. What a great performer!
